Mental Confusion
So I saw a post about George Voinovich, that seemed to
coincide with how I view the USA. I'd never heard of the man, so I had to look
it up. I refuse to just believe the headlines that are put it front of me. It
turns out he did in fact say what the meme said he said. “If he was for it,”
said former Ohio Senator George Voinovich, “we had to be against it.” It
took me awhile to confirm it, it did not immediately come up in my searches,
but I did find it (George
Voinovich).
The article seems to
go ahead with the idea that since there was a hyper-partisan congress, Obama
made the choice to do what he could to exert his will or vision on the USA,
only to be met with timid responses from the Republicans. They simply opposed
his policies because he was Obama. But he was determined to do what was best
for the country, and pushed forward “presidential memoranda” to accomplish what
congress has failed.
Trump, for better or worse has certainly latched onto these ideas,
and has run with them. I’m certainly not an expert on the constitution, but I would
encourage everyone to read the article I mentioned (again)
because this is how the USA works. Trump is only happy if he makes a few
million bucks, that is his shtick. He doesn’t care if the US is worse off as
long as he makes a buck.
We need multiple different parties now more than ever. It’s
impossible to be a patriot and think that with the status quo things can eventually
return to some semblance of normal. That is not going to happen, the difference
between parties is too great, there is no chance of reconciliation. Our only
real hope is to dissolve both parties and start a fresh with many new parties.
Our current system does not work, not at all. We need to
establish something new. I think our constitution, while very imperfect, still
has some value. We need to destroy what we currently have, and rebuild. I don’t
know if we need a new constitutional convention or to create all new political
parties…or both. Where we are today does not work for far too many of us, and
that can’t stand. That is Un-American…. Everyone deserves the chance to better themselves.
