Far Left Extremism
I often
think that maybe I’m alone in my own thoughts, that my beliefs about treating
people as people is weird, that poverty isn’t a choice but an obvious
circumstance due to how society is organized. Then I saw a short video that
clearly explained how we got to where we are.

I’m told that I hold far left views, I’m a left-wing
extremist. However, poll after poll tells me that I’m actually fairly moderate.
I’m a socialist because I believe that people should be able to afford housing.
I’m a radical because I don’t think that Go Fund Me is a reasonable health insurance
plan.
It
boggles my mind because in reality most of views are closer to what the GOP
used to be, but now I’m a far left radical who hates America. The most
important political ideal in my mind is a balanced budget, and ensuring there is
no governmental waste. I’d like to believe that States should have a huge say
in their laws and their autonomy, but there are limits to that.
But
yeah, I’m an extremist because parents should be able to feed their children,
and shit, people should have a roof over their children. I can’t imagine what
is wrong with me.
Scientists
don’t actually just want to bankrupt governments, they may actually know
something. I know its hard to believe that they have an agenda that isn’t about
them. They may actually want to keep the planet around along enough for them to
live on. That might not be important to some people (Mitch McConnell) but some
people may have something to say about it. Sure, they aren’t infallible, but
what reason would we ever have to not at least consider what they have to say?
The
same thing goes with the vaccines that are key to ending the worst pandemic in
global history. Scientists don’t want to kill people, they don’t want to maim people.
They hold each other to much higher standards than any government ever will. If
you don’t trust science, what would you ever trust? Do you take any medicine? Do
you think that you can just fly away because gravity doesn’t apply to you? I
don’t get it. If you don’t believe in the vaccines, then you can’t take any
other medicinal break through in history. It’s as simple as that.
In the
end I’m exhausted about how I’m not patriotic, how I don’t care about this
country. I was born here, I was raised here, I’ve been awarded every benefit possible
by living here. I’m tired of being told that I’m an extremist because I believe
that humans have rights. That they deserver to be treated the same regardless
of their socioeconomic status or their skin color.
Why am
I not allowed to be proud of the strides that we have made towards equality. That
women are in a stronger position today than they’ve ever been. That LGBTQ+
people are less afraid to be themselves than ever before.
Maybe,
just maybe, the extremist views are the ones coming from people that want to
keep people down, rather than build them up. Maybe, just maybe the extremist
views are the ones that prevent freedom and ensure that people remain in poverty.
Eh,
what do I know, I’m just a left-wing extremist, what could I possibly know
about civil rights?
