Comeuppance

     McCarthy has no one to blame for the current situation other than himself. Ever since the 2022 election results came through, we knew that the Republican house was fragmented while the Democratic representatives were united. By giving in to the extremists of his own party, McCarthy sealed his fate. He gave in and conceded thing after thing to these extremists who want nothing more than to be part of a headline.

    It is to no one's surprise that by doing the right thing and preventing an utterly stupid shut down of the U.S. government, that the extremists would take advantage of the concessions and essentially leave the U.S. government useless.

    It has been over a decade of trying to frame the Democrats as the extremists, though all they have done is fought for the benefit of the average American. Trying to make this country a better place to live, and to hold the wealthiest amongst us accountable by forcing them to pay their share of taxes rather that utilizing loopholes to avoid taxes all together. It turns out though, that the extremists are actually those that loathe the Constitution, loathe the average American and loathe a working government.

    We are now at a point where the one and only path forward is bi-partisanship. Not only is that being talked about as an option, but it would be an affront to how things work. Having a functional government doesn't matter anymore. Being there for the country doesn't matter. Doing what is right doesn't matter. No, the only thing that matters is power, and they are perfectly fine to dissolve the government as long as they go out being the last in power.
