Please counter GOP

I sat down to write about divisiveness, and how it’s the biggest problem that we currently face. Even on top of obvious issues like climate change, and poverty. But as I began to think about what I wanted to say, I realized anything that I was going to say would be divisive. If I were to say that every human being deserved the right to live, I’d be challenged. If I were to say that there needs to be criteria to meet in order to receive benefits (which I don’t believe since I’m human), I’d be challenged. If I were to say that aid is essential to the overall health of the USA and would greatly improve the economy and reduce our debt, you guessed it, I’d be challenged.

We live in a society where we all benefit when the lowest of us succeed. The definition of lowest may vary, but doesn’t change the fact that we are all better when they do well.  People will fall into this category for all sorts of reasons, usually for something out of their control. This is the most important demographic to represent. Hands down. I shouldn’t have to explain why. This country does not succeed without low paid individuals. It started with slaves and has moved on to minimum wage workers. We’ve built on the backbone of those who can’t stand up for themselves.

I was thinking I’d like to move on to the issue in Texas. My heart goes out to everyone who is struggling (I loathe using that term, it’s lost so much meaning). From what I can tell, the issue has been a lack of regulation. In addition to that lack of regulation there was the fact that Texas felt superior to the US of A and decided that it could fend for itself. Texas decided it would have its own power grid, and no one can add to it.
Well Texas is paying for that, the cost of no federal regulation is rearing its ugly head. Millions of people are without power and attempting to heat their homes or their families with horrible ideas. How can you blame them? Their government completely and utterly failed them.
Don’t worry though, the leaders of Texas are very on top of the issues. They aren’t providing lies about renewable energy Not a Lie. They’re on top of things. There was certainly no way to know that climate change was going to be more than a financial problem. None at all, there was no way to know that weather events could possibly affect the way of life for humans.

I tried to understand where people are coming from and to understand their beliefs, but at what point am I allowed to say WTF? When are you going to understand that the earth may cease to exist? At what point am I allowed to say fuck you, humans are allowed to live? I’ve gone out of my way to try and understand the counter thought. I’ve gone out of my way to make sure I haven’t been radicalized, I spend a fair share of my time thinking about both my views and those of others. It can keep me up at night.

Why should I care about anyone other than myself when that is all I see from elected officials? Does anyone care at all about who they represent? Or do they just care about controlling power?
I think a quick look at campaigns will tell you. Republicans will tell you the flaws in the Democrats plans. Democrats will tell you their plans.
It doesn’t take much to realize one party wishes to govern and that one party wishes to control. I’ll give you a hint, the party that wants to govern will tell you their plans, and the party that wishes to maintain power will tell you the flaws.

It bothers me so much that common sense and fact has become a political line. Wearing masks, vaccinations, melting ice caps are now political beliefs. Science itself is a political belief. That’s insane, how can you seriously deny fact? I can’t wrap my head around it. I’m left flabbergasted, these things are happening around me but I’m going to believe “Hannity” because.
Yeah, I said that I realized anything I said would be divisive. And in fact everything I said was in fact divisive. I spoke about policy and about how this country works, but there was also common sense about how energy works.
I’m sorry I just can’t stand science and fact denier’s talking about failures in the US government. Likewise, I can’t stand prejudice denier’s talking about how things haven’t changed under Biden.
The truth is that we have control over how government works, and we can have a voice in how it continues. We will make this country better, and its not going to be through social media. Its going to be through the ballot box. We are going to vote for those who represent America. Given the facts, that’s not going to be the GOP,
