Just Think, Please?
How
selfish do you need to be that you won’t wear a mask or get vaccinated against
the most contagious and lethal disease in global history? What could possibly
put yourself above anyone around you? What makes you think that you are more important
than any random person you meet?
I get
that we don’t know the 10 year symptoms of the most important vaccine of our
living history, but after millions of people have taken the vaccine and still
lived, the fact that these people are very less likely to die from the infection
of this incredibly infectious disease. Maybe there is reason to get vaccinated
yourself.
Eh, who
knows, maybe dying will show the libs that there is no need to heed science and
adhere to common sense and protect myself from something deadly.
Nah. I
know better than Scientists, I must certainly leave my face and nose free and
inhale this deadly disease. No harm can possibly come to me for I have the
blessing of God. I am one of the chosen people, what plagues the world cannot
plague me because I believe.
The people
I interact with can’t become sick because its impossible that I myself become
sick. I am a sanctuary. There is no need whatsoever to think about anyone other
than myself because I know that I am pure.
Is it
really that hard to think about someone else? Can we only think about what
makes us feel right? Feel comfortable? We can’t possibly think about how a
simple act like breathing might effect some random stranger we meet while
grocery shopping?
This
pandemic is and always has been about the next person. Its not about you, it’s
not about whether or not you have contracted the disease. It’s about whether or
not you have and are you spreading it to someone else. An individual can
overcome the disease, granted with a myriad of effects many of which are long
term and debilitating. The masses however, may not be able to overcome the
disease. No matter their health status, many people who contract the disease
may either die or suffer symptoms that prohibit them functioning as they always
have.
Which
returns me to how are you so selfish that you won’t get vaccinated, or at the absolute
worst of humanity, won’t wear a mask? Are you telling me that you won’t wear a
mask because you think that your live is more valuable than any stranger that
you pass? Are you telling me that you love America so much that you are willing
to kill citizens so that you can claim to be free?
Well, I’m
willing to give up so much of myself to ensure that millions of people will
live. And not just in this country. It starts hear, if we all do what is right
and protect each other right hear in the US. We can start to protect those in
less fortunate countries. And if we protect those individuals we will grow our
economy, as if you are not living under a rock you would know that we have a
GLOBAL ECONOMY.
Why people ignore this
fact baffles me. There is more to life outside of the United States. Much of it
is very good. Regardless, how other countries fare plays a large part on how
our country succeeds. We all depend on
each other and our economies will grow as one, or subtract as one.
Given
that we depend on the rest of the world for our success, what is holding us
back is our unwillingness to protect our neighbors, and our unwillingness to
recognize our faults.
To be
what others think of Americans at this point is to be willing to spread a deadly
disease to a local cashier because we think that hey, if they wanted a better
job they should just try. If they contract a deadly disease that can easily be
prevented by something like wearing a mask, well that’s on them. They should
have gotten a better job.
I think
while writing this I realized the most important thing. Americans are not
capable of taking responsibility. They will punt it to anyone who isn’t them.
Obviously they can’t protect people around them, its someone else’s fault. The
world is burning? Eh, not my fault, someone screwed up. How can I as the most privileged
person ever be to blame? Nope, I’m going
to go to sleep, cause I don’t care about anyone other than myself. It’s the definition
of the 13 alternating stripes of white and red peppered with 50 stars.
