Comeuppance
McCarthy has no one to blame for the current situation other than himself. Ever since the 2022 election results came through, we knew that the Republican house was fragmented while the Democratic representatives were united. By giving in to the extremists of his own party, McCarthy sealed his fate. He gave in and conceded thing after thing to these extremists who want nothing more than to be part of a headline. It is to no one's surprise that by doing the right thing and preventing an utterly stupid shut down of the U.S. government, that the extremists would take advantage of the concessions and essentially leave the U.S. government useless. It has been over a decade of trying to frame the Democrats as the extremists, though all they have done is fought for the benefit of the average American.
